PetsIncluded.org: Preparedness Education for Pet Owners
Pet Owner Education is the Key to a pet's survival in a disaster - and it is the major focus of the Animal Resource Committee!
Paws to Love's Animal Resource Committee believes that Pet Owners who have learned how to prepare their family for disasters....including their four legged, feathered, furred and scaled family members help the overall disaster response that takes place in a community following fires, floods, tornadoes, etc.
In addition to providing educational resources for pet parents, the Animal Resource Committee works with Emergency Managers in Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Counties in Kansas, by identifying agencies and organizations, both private and public that can provide resources to facilitate the counties' response to people with pets when disaster strikes.
The menu on the left of your screen provides links to our pages that provide specific tips and instructions in planning for your pets in disasters.
An important consideration to keep in mind, if you find yourself unable, for any reason, to be able to provide care for your pet - whether you are called away on an emergency, your road is closed, you become ill, or you pass away...these are truly disasters for your pet. Take the time to plan before circumstances prevent you from providing essential care for your pet.
